I know this isn't anything exciting; but, I wanted to share that I've ordered stencils from Ernie.

I like it a lot. Kind of in the same spirit of the one I'm working on. Except a lot different. Good work...

My apologies ahead of time, but I saw the title of the thread and I couldn't resist grabbing my camera...

Here's my Maker's Mark =D

Thanks for the compliments. I made it in Freehand.

If anyone would like me to build them something in Freehand and export a bitmap or pdf, pm me; I'll hook you up. I have a butt-load of fonts too.

I have the full Adobe Creative Suite, also; but am fairly incompetent with it. It's a pita, so I revert back to Macromedia, which isn't as powerful, but works.

Just some good advise from an old fart:

Take your time and learn. Jumping in head first , buying a ton of equipment, and designing a makers mark.....before you have made a knife is putting the cart before the horse.

A maker on this forum named his knifes and logo " X. McXXXZX Knives" before he had ever finished a single knife. Not sure he has made more than one knife yet.

Take your time. Start mostly by hand ( You can screw up a knife 500 ways...a KMG will help you do that 500 times faster without experience). Listen, take criticism as a good thing, and be patient. It takes time to get this skill down.

Please feel free to email me with any questions.

Stacy,
Thanks for the advice. I have screwed up several attempts, completed one knife, and have three in the works right now.

I felt it was time to step up. I'll post a pic, to show my prior skill level...which, I consider mediochre.

Here's the first knife I've completed, including the first sheath.

The three that are in the works right now are two scandi-influenced, and a small wood carver for leather work.
