Thanks much for taking the time to do this. Very interesting and well done.
You do some outstanding work !

I just wan't to say I love watching your videos.

They are very well made, better then some that are out for sale, Caleb is doing a great job!

But wouldn't it be easier to do the ht using your Ht forge and clay the blade, edge quench it and draw the spine?

To me it seems like you would have better control that way and it would be easier to duplicate then using the torch.

I have to say I'm a total noob when it comes to forging and damascus...

However your result was great and I'm, sure you will pass the test without any problem.

Jakob

Thank you so much for posting these videos. I watched them with my wife who has no interest in knives and she thought it was really cool.

Your brother did a hell of a job too. You have a very talented family. You are a true crafstman and my hat is off to you. Best of luck on your test.

Well I'm off for Jim Walker's house to take the test. Caleb will video it so you all can see.

You could do this if you liked. I have more experience getting a super soft spine using a torch and edge quenching. One could also harden the entire blade and just draw back the spine. Very good observation.

Hope all goes well. I have no doubt in your ability.Your work is outstanding and neary flawless. This will be no problem for you.

Good luck, I enjoyed watching your 4th installment of the videos you put up...the time lapse stuff is enjoyable to see, each smith will do things different and you're showing us how you do it. Great job!

I watched the vids and enjoyed every lesson and instruction.

Thank you!

I'm back! Thanks for the kind words everyone! The test went great. The knife performed very nicely.

Here is video four of five. The fifth video (Caleb is working on it right now) will show you all the actual test at Jim Walker's shop.

Thanks for watching and enjoy.

Glad to hear the test went well Kyle and can not wait for video 5, getting ready to watch this one :D.

Congratulations on successfully passing your M.S. performance test! And thanks for the videos. Now we can all look forward to seeing what knives you make to take to Atlanta. (or San Antonio)
