I spend a lot of time in the outdoors and I like to be prepared for what comes my way.
I have 3 knives that I rely on for my bush needs. My F1,S1 and my Busse Hell Razor.
I also like the spec-ops survival and combat commander sheaths.and I keep some pretty different things in each.
First my F1 and small survival sheath.
I modified the sheath to allow the knife to sit lower in the plastic insert and molded it so it holds the knife in place even if the strap gets undone.I keep in the pocket a magnesium fire starter and a small hiker SAK.This is my bare bones Les Stroud facing the wilderness almost bare rig.(suvivorman rules)
next is my S1 and combat commander sheath.
I like the fast opening option of this sheath and increased pouch size compared to the survival of the same size.I fill it with a Leatherman Kick and a bic lighter. This sheath gets the most carry out of the 3.I find the S1 fills almost every need I have in the woods.
Finally my Hell Razor and Large survival sheath.
As you noticed I departed greatly from the last 2 with this one.I only carry this sheath set-up when I go on multi day or hazardous treks. This one is my last ditch life saver.A mini trauma kit bent around cuts.I have a Suture kit,6 big band-aids,4 anti-septic towelets,2 wet-naps,a small trauma patch and some tape.I keep it all inside a ziplock bag to keep it dry and clean.
I don't carry all of these at once but I do mix and match depending on my mood and where I'm going.I'm open to sugestions for different set-ups to use.I'm always looking to get better.
Stay sharp and stay safe.
