This past weekend, I went to visit one of my close friends in Cleveland and see my God-sons, and I spent the extended weekend with them. While I was there we filled our weekend with family friendly activities, most of the time.
The first night, her and I went out on the town while her husband watched the boys. We went to a festival that the casino was putting on outside on the square. The festival was not what we were expecting at all so we weren't there long, but we did manage to drab a few beers before we decided to leave. ;) After leaving, we grabbed dinner at a little pub, hit up the casino for a little while, and finished the night off by stopping at a few bars on the way to the train to go to the house.
Saturday we got up and tried to decide what to do that we could include the entire family with. The Cleveland Zoo was what the oldest boy thought would be fun, so that's what we did. We packed lunch, sunscreen, stroller, and got in the car for a day at the zoo.
Monkeys:D

Some Otters in their den

Flamingos, that decided they weren't going to be friends for whatever reason. They were all picking and attacking this one poor bird. :(

Poison Dart Frog, which looks pretty awesome!

Fish and such,

This poor little fella only has one eye :(

Meerkats

Fierce jungle cat

This fella spotted a tasty treat just past his reach

What he was watching, these fawn were not part of the exhibit. They just happened to wander through the wooded area

Red Pandas are so adorable

The Australia portion of the zoo was pretty interesting, but I like kangaroos and dingos and didgeridoos so I guess I'm partial :D

This Dingo looked so cute that I literally said that I want to have one for a pet

There was a three story tree house that had a "Snake Slide" that Korbin, the oldest boy, insisted that I had to go through with him.

The lookout point of the tree house

Sunday we went to Huntington Beach for a few hours.

I was told that Mitchell's Ice Cream is the best I'd ever get to try, so I had to try it. I got a Turtle Sunday

I had a great time, it was a nice weekend away.

That is the fatest looking Dingo I think I have ever seen..!!! In the wild they tend to be VERY skinny..!!!!

Looks like a fun weekend was had by all... :D

It may have been fat, but it was the cutest animal I got to see. :foot:

I know people who have had them as pets, they are however a truly wild dog, they also don't bark, just hoooowwwwwwwwl.... ;)

Great pics. The Cleveland Zoo is really nice; when resingirl was young we were members and would go a couple of times a year. We missed going last year, have to get there soon.

Awesome thread, Lora! I'm pretty sure I would take ANY of those animals as pets :D

I can honestly say, I have never even heard of a red panda before. I need to visit that zoo!

Sooooo cool. How much does that look like!! I really like the Meerkats, and the tail on that monkey is freaking wild....must be 3 feet long! I want a tree fort like that in my backyard, it's got to be the ultimate Man Cave.

Thanks for taking the time to post those pictures, glad you had a good time.

The Tree House was my favorite part of what I got to see. I didn't get to see the entire zoo, its just too big to get to everything in one day. I would gladly build a tree house like that even if I didn't have anyone to share it with.

Cool! But, I can't believe that no one's commented about said dingo's petite appetite. Rob, it seems only proper that I leave this one for you mate:)

....... well last time I camped at Ayers Rock I had two dingos running around the campsite.... when at Kings Canyon I woke at 2am to find two looking through the fly screen into the tent at me... I suspect I was TOO big for their taste..... ;)
