My Mini Vacation

.. . I didn't get to see the entire zoo, its just too big to get to everything in one day... .

This is true. That was the nice thing about the zoo membership; knowing that you could come back anytime, and not feeling that you had slog through the whole zoo to get your money's worth.

Hey thanks Lora!!! It has been so long since I have seen some of those critters but I think my fav is the Meerkats. Got a hoot watching shows on those little guys. Really goods pics Lady.

HAHA!! I'm sure that you'll have to wait until the dingo doggy is used to kittens enough to be around them without thinking they are tasty treats. Even my dog now doesn't like kittens for anything other than treats with legs.

Those Red Panda's and other animals look cool, but there is something about Meerkats that I find fascinating.

Last year we took the Indian Pacific from Sydney to Perth (three nights on the train) over in the middle of nowhere is a place called "Cook" we made a quick stop there (that turned into three hours waiting for the Royal Flying Doctor due to a heart attack on the train) I think Cook has a permanent population of less than 10 people.... just as the train was getting ready to leave I snapped this guy wandering in from the scrub for a look around..... ;) wild Dingos that have lost their fear/caution around humans can actually be very dangerous (there have been a number of deaths up on Fraser Island) .... but yes...they can be very cute as well.... ;)

There have been reports of dingoes taking domestic dogs/pets in our area in recent times. I'm not too worried about Murray getting into trouble with them, as he's bigger and stronger than I am but it must be terribly scary when they start howling and yipping in the nearby bush to lure out the family dog to investigate.

Looks like you had a great time Lora! Holidays are the best. We recently went to the USA and spent a week in Atlanta with some crazy knife nerds. :D Had so much fun.

As frightening as the thought of being ripped apart by dogs sounds, I still think dingos are adorable. I'm not sure why, but I really want a wild dog as a pet.

Rob, I don't think that Murray had to worry about dingos weither. He's a big boy but one swing of one of those massive paws and they don't stand a chance.

Free the otters......any vacation that involves otters has got to be awesome glad you had a good time and great pics
