Hey Hogs,

So I finally scored a FFBM ---- so naturally ---- it was time for a Mirror Polished Edge. It's so stunning now! It took FOREVER to reprofile it down to a level I consider high performance. It's still indestructible and durable ---- with a 19 degree edge (38 degrees inclusive), but with the shoulders significantly leaned/cleaned and with an apex edge and finish measuring .5 micron --- it can CUT! This is by far the hardest knife I've had to reprofile and put this kind of edge on, but it was every bit worth it. Thank you Jerry and Busse crew for giving me the opportunity to put a perfect edge on a perfect example of an Invincible Busse Legend . . . Cheers!

Dang Rob thats looking dead sexy. That was done on your mini belt grinder thing from ken onion?
I can't remember the name. I gotta get higher waterstone grits to get an edge like that.

Nice work,,,:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks brother!

ben franklin looks nervous with that saber hanging over his head. beautiful work :thumbup:

Haha thanks man --- I would be too --- this edge leaves absolutely no margin for error. It whittles a single hair fiber into multiple sub strands ;)

Thanks man! No definitely not a product of my Work Sharp Ken Onion Edition. I used my Wicked Edge Sharpener with a bunch of accessory stones, ceramics, and balsa wood strops to get this level of edge refinement. It definitely took a while.

I think you just lacerated my cornea...you'll be hearing from my lawyer sir for posting such sharp pictures so recklessly

Very impressive, well done Rob!

bwahaha nice one Petey!!

That edge looks wicked! no pun intended!

I wonder... Can I do this on my Wicked Edge on my B11... hmmm I sense a mission, and some blood letting before that job can be completed!

Nice work Rob!

Looks good!

Is the tip not polished? Not sure if picture or reflection.

There is a small portion of the tip that has been left as is --- I wanted that small portion of the tip to have more metal so when I baton I have no possible issues. Also the angle on the tip may have been close to 35 degrees and it was way too much to reprofile down -- so I just left the small section alone ;)

Well actually --- I did start to try to reprofile it --- and I got about half way before realizing it was totally unnecessary ;)

I need a B11 --- it's the only knife that's really missing from my lineup. Yes the Wicked Edge should be able to put a screaming sharp edge on the B11 as long as you use something to compensate for the FFG. Keep us posted if/when you finish.
