My Mirror Polished Edged FFBM

Excellent work and good choice on dps.....

Cobalt!! Thank you brother!! I'm obsessed with this thing now. My fiancé keeps looking at me like I'm cheating on her. I told her what could be better than a man who has the love of his life next to him in one arm and a Sharp Mistress in the other!

Tell her that Cobalt's wife has to contend with over 20 mistresses, that might make her feel better

This thread really helped me! I just Wicked Edged my FSH to 38 degrees inclusive with a small sharper bevel on the edge... Wow! I am sooo impressed! Can't wait to get her in the woods and see the difference in performance! Thanks for the thread and the detailed information!!!

Awesome brother!! Glad it helped! I'm really finding that 19 degrees each side allows INFI to excel without needing too many touch ups after hard use. Congrats on your FSH --- I'm sure she's pretty

Looks great. Thinking of asking for a Wicked edge for Christmas.

I just worked a trade for a wicked edge pro pack. I'm super excited about it coming in. Can't wait to make one of my edc knives razor sharp, the rest will do with a basic working edge but I can't say enough how I wish it was here already.

Yes!! You guys will love it. The key to the edges are the consistency and level of precise refinement! Cheers to Sharp Things!!

Looks good, Rob! If you decide to do any more heavy edge geometry reprofiling, I would suggest getting yourself an XXC Waterstone that has a very strong bond that you can really lean into to cut that steel away. Diamond plates obviously will work, they just takesmuch longer as you can't really lay into it without risking damaging the plate/removing the bonded diamonds from the surface.

Awesome brother! I'll definitely look into that because I do a lot of reprofiling to get even better geometry. I just hope that the grind lines aren't so deep that I can't polish them out. I'll have to do some research. Thanks!

Any hard use on your polished edges?
After I lightly polished my edge on a 8000 grit, it SINKS into wood. Factory edge feels much too gummy (can't find the word).

Yes! It makes a huge difference ---- it's most noticeable on the smaller stuff. I haven't tested the FFBM yet because I haven't picked up a sheath for it, but as soon as I do -- you can bet I'll post an update.
