I wrote a negative review (2 stars) for a lighter that I purchased from Bladehq. Although beautiful and well made (which I said), the Field S lighter is difficult to strike and doesn't always light on the first strike. The lowly Bic lighter is better.

Shortly after I wrote the review, Bladehq removed it. Not the way an honest dealer should operate.

Bladehq has lost me as a customer. On my knife orders, the company has always done right by me, but reviews are part of the website and should be respected. You can't trust the reviews you read on that site.

Hopefully it was a glitch or a mistake of some sort. I actually prefer reading lower than perfect scores on reviewed products. You get a better understanding when you get both sides of the coin.

Wouldn't be the first time reviews were falsified to promote a product.

Shame.

Agree with fog also not accusing or blaming but was anything said that rude or mean agian just asking

No, the lighter has a very clever design and is very well made, which I said in my short review. It's just a hassle to use. It doesn't light on every try. It's difficult to make spark. Sometimes the flipping lid flies back and smothers the flame when it does light. I've always had good experience with Bladehq on my knife orders, but if they're going to have a review section, it should be conducted fairly. That's my only complaint. There are too many bad reviews or fake reviews in the web. I was careful to be specific in my experience with the lighter, which is very expensive and has glowing reviews in various other places. I was careful not to be rude.

Why don't you just give them a call and ask........would've been the right thing to do BEFORE posting here.
Plenty of bad reviews are up on the site.

I can explain this one. Your review wasn't deleted, it's just still in the queue to be reviewed. We don't process reviews right away because we want to make sure they follow our quality guidelines (i.e. take out swear words). Since you left your review last night, no one was able to review it until today. You are correct that there wasn't anything offensive in the review and it's been approved now. I'm sorry for any misunderstanding this may have caused.

BladeHQ is a winner, and a credit to this community as a vendor!

I could be wrong, but my guess is that BladeHQ wants good products that good customers really like. Conversely, I think it's likely that they want to know when they have a product that customers do not like and they want to know what is wrong with that product. It makes no sense to hide a bad review or keep a bad product. Doing either is guaranteed to negatively impact the bottom line, i.e. they are a business and want to stay in business.

I know BHQ has explained their position in this matter. I am just trying to say that it makes no logical sense that they would intentionally take down a bad review on any product simply because it is a bad review.

Thank you Blade HQ for the explanation... i really wondered because I've read before several reviews with 1-2 stars and they are always there and posted...

Nice response from Bladehq. I guess what confused me is that it showed up after I posted it, and then it was gone. Maybe it was my mistake.

Thanks for the response. As I said, on my knife purchased, I've always had good service from Bladehq.
