My old BM E has gone and found a new home in the bush somewhere :( I lost her while transporting firewood out of the forest and now i need a new big chopper... I have a few Kukri blades from Nepal and i think they are great choppers but they don't stand up to really hard use, so i went out and got myself a CS san mai 3 kukri as a emergency blade but the handle on the CS is a piece of crap and too small for my hands :grumpy:

So now i am thinking about calling the Busse Custom Shop and have them make me a custom KILLA ZILLA .....So if there is anyone out there that have had the custom shop make a KZ or have and use any of the KZ's that has been made i would be greatful for some input on this blade..

Seriously! You need a metal dectector and a crew of rescue/searchers and go back out pronto!

The thought of loosing a Busse chopper in the brush makes me sick!!!!!

I have used my KZII for chopping a bit. Limbing small trees is where it seems to be especially useful (at least it seemed well suited when I used it for that).

I have convexed and polished the edge. The angle is a bit more acute on the first 4 or 5 inches or so on near the guard for detail work, and a bit more robust in the sweet spot.

I also have a B11 for chopping.

I can't comment on the TT KZ from personal use, but they seem to have a following. The more fusion esque handle will lend it self to resisting twisting in the hand well. The KZII has a bigger handle from length perspective.

You LOST a BMe??!???!?! Oh man does that SUCK!!!

Where about did you lose it? :D

The coolest Custom Zilla I've seen is Jroden's. It's his doing though not BCS

Trust me i have been searcing for her and i will be searching for a long time to come but even if i find her i want a KZ

I had an email conversation with pokey about this just a few days ago. I can tell you now that if you see one on the exchange pick it up. Gonna be atleast 2 weeks until a KZ custom can be done.

2 weeks is not bad :) I can live with the CS longer than that

Tyrade, thanks man!

Lennox, that sucks about the BMe, hope it somehow turns up.

Mmmmm, zilla goodness

I'd recommend watching the X, score one there, then send it in to the CS to have it done up to your liking

Sorry bud. I just noticed you are new around here. 2 weeks in busse speak is the same as anyone else saying....ah eventually.....basicly dont hold your breath.

I'd definatly recommend hand shaped slabs, and if you pick up one of the original TT models, have them thin it down a bit, makes a world of difference

I was talking with Garth about a custom job I was playing with in my mind, but at the moment ( and who knows when) they don't have any stock wide enough to make a zilla out of ( well, they did, but it would have to be ground down from much thicker stock)

2 week wait time? When i was ordering my Gladius and AK, i wanted a KZ, but they didn't have any blanks for it. They already had blanks for the gladius and the AK, and those took 10 weeks.... a 2 week wait is nothing..

Good suggestion .... i watch the for sale section all the time but no luck yet...

Does it have to be a INFI blade? I have seen some Rat Daddys lay seige to some wood. If I was ever going to get a big knife as a chopper that would be my choice.

Rat Daddys will probably do a good job but i got the incurable infi fever

Sorry to hear about your loss brother.....where did ya loose it? Maybe I can go look? ;)

Hey Jroden5446, nice vid n pics!

There are many threads on the subject of TTKZ vs. KZ2. The consensus seems to be that the TTKZ style has a superior handle shape. So you might try a WTB for a TTKZ, then send it in for modding. The original edge is definitely too thick, it will need to be thinned back.

Another option is a Gen 1 CGNMFBM. I think they were 0.25" thick. After a little edge thinning, they make a very impressive chopper.

Feel free to help me look for it :) but you need to fly to Norway first.. If you fly all the way to Norway and find it i will give it to you..

If you get a Zilla Id get a test team or maybe the Proto. I had the Zilla II and the handle just didn't work for me. Its too long to get a sound grip on. The blade shape was great though.

Ive heard nothing but good stuff about the TTKZ though! Everytime I see Jroden's Zilla I get a little jealous. Especially with those dead sexy handles
