Brother and Sisters,

I recently just picked up a NIB small Plain Jane Sebenza 21 with DT Raindrop Damascus and Silver Hardware from our friends at Edged Specialties. I got it in on Wed and spent some time last night getting to know her and familiarizing myself with her beauty. I absolutely love the silver hardware with the Damascus--it makes for quite a stunning contrast and gives the knife a lot of personality.

I have a handful of CRK's and a couple of them sit in storage NIB because I either want to keep them pristine or I just haven't had a desire to use them yet. When I ordered this small 21 I set out to make it my primary EDC blade and would give it equal pocket/usage time with my small Plain Jane Insingo. So, she is riding in my pocket and waiting for her first task.

I hope you enjoy these pics and someday, she will have a personality all of her own like my Insingo.

Beautiful Knife!! Can't wait for some after action reports!!
All the best, Dave

I love CRK damascus. I have had several large and small 21's. Unfortunately the ones with the beautiful inlay or graphic had ladder damascus and for some reason ladder damascus just does not appeal to me. I like the raindrop and the newer basketweave. I always loved spirograph, but waited around too long and now they are gone. I am not about to pay what I have seen some ask for them. I did a review on all the CRK blade steels awhile back. I still feel the same now as I did back then. I liken CRK SS damascus to S30V. Since S30V is my favorite sebenza blade steel, thats a good thing. It holds a good edge, is easy to sharpen and maintain. Best of both worlds. I will get one to use more heavily eventually. Currently the only damascus I have is on 2 special large regulars that are just not users because of their extreme rarity. For those wanting a damascus blade, CRK Devin Thomas SS Damascus is the way to go hands down.......!!!

Thanks brother. I plan on doing a CRK Damascus User "documentary" by chronicling its usage and wear as the days come and go. Outside of our little knife community it would be considered odd and even somewhat neurotic to take pictures of using my knife. However, on the INSIDE it is GAME ON!

I too missed the boat on the spirograph, but hope to snag one sometime. Do you have a link to photos of your pair Damascus Sebenzas nyefmaker? Would love to see them, and again thanks for sharing your latest catch MostMenAreRuthless!!

I appreciate your knowledge and insight my friend. I am excited to put it to use!

Anytime my friend, always glad to help. I so have to get a large sebenza with damascus to edc. I have come close a lot lately, but just looking for that right one that calls my name......lol

The silver looks really nice. I'm still partial to the blue but I definitely see the appeal! Glad you ended up getting the damascus.

Now it that does not catch your eye as an EDC nothing will. Knife Nut or not you would have to take notice of a blade like that. I look forward to your on going story. Thanks for starting the thread.

I am really excited to see how that wears in. Please keep the pics coming. I really like the Damascus with the plain slabs. The blade is the star of the show.

Mr. Hunter: I agree! I showed it to my non-KN brother and he appreciated its beauty and it's sharpness!

Mr. Twinkie: Wow! It's pretty rare to be able to find a "Grail date" CRK! Believe me brother, if I decide to part with her I will definitely let you know.

Mr. Congo: Excellent way to put it that the blade is the "star of the show." I am also looking forward to watching it develop character and become "mine." You can see from the pics that the small Insingo is full of natural, earned, character marks and this 21 Damascus will earn the same marks. Pictures will certainly be shared along the way!

I appreciate it! This is the second Sebenza that I've seen sharing my birthday. Unfortunately for the first one, I missed it by a few hours. This one is a real looker!

MMAR, awesome thread! I have a large raindrop 21 that is a user as well. I look forward to seeing your character marks over time.

I have a small 21 just as you do but in ladder dammascus. I don't get to use her too often for cutting but when the time comes I don't hesitate. She, along with an old Voss Cut Co stockman, have been in my pocket nearly daily for the last year.
