My new BG42 stars and stripes; before going to the spa! What do you think?

Very good idea Sarge! And again I just want to stress that what I have concluded from your very nice photos is my opinion, I would welcome opinions and observation's from members here who are both more experienced an knowledgeable than I, of which there are many!! Probably the best information would come from someone here that owns one of these knives. However I do think as I have posted earlier in this thread that the knife in question started life as a Plane a Jane Large Regular Sebenza from the late 90's before CRK started code dating the slabs. It is not unusual for a CRK to have different code dates or even undated examples.. but I think the presence of the earlier pocket clip and the unpolished fasteners is out of place for a CGG from this era. Again my opinion and I would in this case especially love to be wrong! !
All the best, Dave

I emailed the pics to CRK to try and get some definitive information on it. Hopefully my pics are good enough to get an educated idea of what I have. I am disappointed with it to be honest; the seller told me he got it brand new and has owned it every since. I let him know what is being said here and he is adamant that if this is from two separate knives that CRK did it.

Holy crap that's nice, I clicked the thread having never seen a "stars and stripes" CRK before any not knowing what to expect, I've seem some pretty horrible flag pattern knives before (other brands) but that one is freaking awesome. Nice find.

Thanks, unfortunately it's just not for me. It will be listed in the exchange at some point, mainly once I hear back from CRK to correctly list it.

I have a small Regular in that pattern that I really like. If I were selling it, I don't think I'd send it in for spa service - I'd let the buyer decide. I have a small BG-42 Regular that developed lockbar play and while it was being fixed I had the spa service done also. They did a great job, but if I had it to do again, I'd skip it. Among other things, the CR logo suffered in the alox blasting process. Plus, the honest use marks all disappeared (obviously) - in retrospect, I liked the signs of honest carry and use. :) In any case, I'm not sure what spa service for the graphics knives entails? I doubt they refinish the graphic scale.
