My new Black Raven

So you wouldn't touch the mushrooming? I hate that, and feel like it takes away so much from the attractiveness of the ax.

So do I. And because of that I'd go ahead and get paid, then buy 2 (or 10) other axes without fancy labels that are just as good that you can use, plus the handles, and have money left over.

A few or eight axes, lots of lumber for handles, plenty of beer, and enough left to take the female out for food.

Haha...that is great. So, if I do decide to take the advice and leave it alone, what should I do to just clean the dirt and stuff off of it without taking off the patina? I think I agree...the patina is a great look.

That stamp is so nice that it will catch the eye of serious collectors. For that audience there is nothing you or I can do to improve that axe. Anything you do subtracts value.

No one is ever gonna use that axe (unless you decide to throw away a bunch of money and make it a user). If the collector wants it cleaned up or the mushrooming ground off they'll do it themselves - they prefer it that way.

Do nothing to it. Just put it to auction and start giggling as the bids come in. By the time your auction is over the giggling will have become cackling.

Thats a very good looking head even with the mushrooming (not as bad as many out there), sell it or keep it, but leave the shroom alone, id suggest :)
