As I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to distract myself from some challenging personal stuff, I've been burying myself in my business. One of the things I've done is start a new blog for my business. I thought some of you, here, might like to see it.

This is not intended as SPAM. Honestly, I don't see a knife forum as a well targeted place to sell fine art photographic prints and stuff.

Many of you, here have shown a keen enjoyment of my outdoor photography and an interest in my discussions about my methods of working in nature to get the photos I'm after. So, I thought you might like to see my blog, which shows my pics and discusses how I do what I do, in some depth.

I hope you enjoy. I also welcome any feedback and criticism, positive or negative. Here it is:

Brian, if this post is not appropriate, here, I apologize, and welcome you to delete or remove or edit this post.

Mike, you are a class act all the way. Anything you want or need to do, you have my full support, brother! You have my full endorsement here.

Where the heck is that "report as spam" button.........

I'm just joking, I'm one of those people who enjoy your work. I'll be adding this to my favorites.

Very cool.
She Who Must Be Obeyed will be visiting. As will I of course.

Mike, I've always enjoyed your work, so please tell us when you do anything new. And you're right, we're all probably too poor from buying gear to be able to afford your work, so it can't be spam. :)

I threw up a link on my site. I only get around 40K unique visitors a month, but maybe some will come your way. I look forward to seeing what you do with the site.

Cool deal, man. Expect some questions flying inbound from me. I try to make some high-quality pics with my fossilized eqpt. Check out the ones I have posted on flickr and let me know what you think. It's under DougO83. Great stuff on the blog and page.

I saw blog and evolute closely together and I got excited! I was hoping it would be more survival focused, I often frequent your articles on your psk. I wouldn't complain if there was a survival photo or article thrown in between some AMAZING photography!

Nice work evolute!

You have my best of wishes working out that which needs to be worked out. I was in a similar spot last year so I feel for yeah and know about the tendency to go diving into work.

Thanks, everybody.

Dougo,

I looked at your flickr photostream. I found a lot of your pictures somewhat cluttered with extraneous elements, and visually confusing. In some pictures, such as this one...

...I am unable to receive a clear message about what you are trying to present and communicate to the viewer, and why. Ansel Adams said, "There is nothing worse than a brilliant image of a fuzzy concept." I think you need to be more emphatic about the concepts you are trying to express in your pictures.

My favorite: http://flickr.com/photos/28514556@N04/2658865201/

By the way, your fossilized camera should not be an overriding problem.

Naked,

I will consider adding explicitly survival related stuff, but, frankly, I think that might not be good for business. In any case, there will be many such concepts just under the surface, in my generalized discussions of nature photography, such as the parts of this last article about observation, situational awareness, and naturalist skills.

kgd,

Thank you. I have never experienced anything so hard in my life... and there's been plenty of hardship. I'm sorry you had to go through the same. Best wishes to you, too.

I allready had your website in my favorites and now your blog joins it. You are a talented fella, keep up the great work!

Yea...alot of those were more or less tinkering with my camera. I got ahold of an old Minolta X-700 and was just kind of learning as I went with it. I took alot of those just to try and understand the settings on the camera as it didn't come with the manual and I just recently downloaded a copy.

Hang in there, Evolute. I've put your blog on my favorites list ... will definitely drop by from time to time.

It's helped me to remember that life hands out misfortune and grace in roughly equal measures. Better days will come for you.:)

They did for me.
