M4 is great I'm sure you will enjoy it. The most interesting thing about the blur to me has always been the angled thumbstuds. I'd love to see someone try and throw something like that on a manual thumbstud knife. Would be very interesting if the angle of engagement was right.

I've turned my Blur into a manual, it works fine. With a bit of practice you can pop the blade out.

YES...in fact, the only Kershaws I've owned before I entered into my "Kershaw knife phase" recently was the assumption that all the Kershaw knives with thumb studs were like that, not so. And it makes a HUGE difference, for me, particularly since I have very large thumbs. It does not have the little flipper thing on the top, like my other Kershaws, but I really like the thumb stud for the very reason you mention.

I've got big hands as well, maybe ill get creative with a belt sander and a beaten up Rat1 one of these days and see if i can replicate it

I assume there is not real "detent" too speak of given the lack of torsion bar? Does it stay closed in pocket?

I believe that this knife is crying out for a 30 degree back bevel runover on the Sharpmaker. Then, a few passes on the 40 degree side to tune that edge up, this baby will be ready for business!

Can you effectively reset the back bevel on a sharpmaker with M4 though? I have always assumed it was a no go and just brought out the KME Diamonds for my BM Super freek in M4

It's called "peeling up fly asses hairs". I don't know and I don't want to know anything about that business.
