The weather improved today, so I snapped a few pictures at lunch.

Mark side (the first one is a blade edge shot, just for Kevin)

Now for a few with the 1977 brown bone alongside its much older red bone 6292 sibling.

One of Case's best patterns. Both nice examples!

Very nice, I like both of them. I just picked up a 1978 Case 6308 Whittler with the Brown bone. I still like the Redbone but the Brown is growing on me.

Thanks. Here it is with the other Case jacks (peanuts and stockman knives excluded).

Home from my trip to Indiana and Kentucky I can now upload some photos I took back in my hometown.

Late afternoon on the railroad tracks, which are two houses south of my childhood home.

Same tree setting, this time with the XX era 6292, the older sibling of Paul's gracious gift to me.

When I showed these pictures to my wife this evening, she commented on the number stamped into the blade, "Look, 62 92, the years you and our son were born."

Along with Paul's generous gift, another reason to appreciate this knife.

Really beautiful shots of your new 6292 " on the rail" Doug:thumbup:
That's a sweet one!

Thank you.

Here are a couple more that show off the brown bone.

.

The knife is out of focus in this one, but the setting sunlight brings out the brown hues of the wood and steel in the background, which augments the color of the bone.

Once again Doug you grace our forum with such great photos and a love for knives that only we could ever know -thank you kind sir...just really enjoyed flicking through that Thread!

I take it at least one of these settings was the "special request"? Or was it more general?

~ P.

Yes, Paul asked for some pictures of the 6292 on the rail, as I had taken before (when I was visiting family in Indiana for Thanksgiving). His timing could not have been better, because unbeknownst to him, the knife arrived shortly before I was traveling home to Indiana so my Dad and I could attend NCAA basketball tournament games in Lexington, Kentucky.
