Good Pics!!!!

That old one doesn't look so bad. Just needs a little tlc on the blade.

And I bet you could take some alcohol or lysol and clean off what ever that is on the guard.

Caine...

Those are cool knives. I got one for Christmas and got to use it
when I went deer hunting. I know that you will like the 120 as
I do.

Newbie question...

Spacers?

Goose, the fiber or plastic washers that are added at the front guard and the butt. They look like colored bands embedded in the alum.

In the older knives like a two line inverted 103 that I have. In addition to the ones on the guard and butt there were additional spacers where the handle material and the butt and guard meet.

Yeah, that's what I kine thought MikeSEA. But the pics look as though the spacers are the same...
SO...I am guessing that they used two thin ones as opposed to one thick one in the space (???).
Thanks MikeSEA!

Sorry Goose, I missed your point. :o

There is no close-up of the butt area. But in the top photo it almost looks like there may be a spacer between the handle material and the alum.

The Dec. 2004 BCCI newsletter has a good article by Joe, about the spacers in the 100 series knives, and dating them.

I would take a guess by the pictures that the knife would have been manufactured around 1981.

OK! Now I see whatcha mean!
Thanks MikeSEA. That's my "what I learned today".

I wish the current Buck FB sheaths humg lower on the belt like the old one in the pic.

Thanks Tom, I guess I've got to get off my butt and join the BCCI. I'm missing out on a lot of good stuff. :o

I tend to be a "why do it today when you can put it off till tomorrow" type guy. I tell my wife I'm a planner. I do things... but I do a heck of a lot of thinking about it first.
