My new Crash axe

New guy on here, just bought this crash axe, its a 1955 perks I plan on useing it like a hawk what do ya'll think?

it ought to work, they were used for a small fire axe or boarding axe back in the day :thumbup: Pat
 
Looks really sturdy---a classic. For hawk uses (other than throwing) I'd probably thin the edge out to get better chopping performance.

I really like all the Hawks I see on here, I got all of 45 bucks in this one and Brit steel is one of the finest around. I plan on putting a edge on the spike, at least on the lower and point, put a nice para wrap on it, and get some color on it. I found they were designed to cut a pilot out of a crashed airplane, made to chop metal hence the VERY sturdy construction. Never even heard of a "crash axe" before. Thanks for the comments, I think its cool as hell.

My introduction was brief as well, this thing is tough, spent a little time on it with a aggressive file and let me tell you son whatever they did to heat treat this steel was something special. I may need to rethink my plans, this thing is a BEAST.
