My new custom Bowie

I was incredibly lucky and got a friend of mine on the CGN(Canadian Gun Nutz) forum ,Conan to make me a fantastic new Bowie.
Here it is in it's finished form.

The steel is diff tempered 5160 ,and the guard is his hand made wrought iron.
The knife is sole authorship even to the point of Conan cutting down the tree that the beautiful burl handle is made of.

This is going to be a user. here the maker has taken one swipe at a 3 inch adler.

I even got to see my knife being made on the forum which was awesome.

I got a great deal on this knife as well but sorry to everyone else he is a hobby maker and has more work than he wants.

The hard part now is waiting while it is in the mail:grumpy:
 
It is a 9 inch blade but i am not sure the overall length because it is not in my greedy little hands yet.

I posted it here in the outdoors section because it is very much intended for use as an outdoor tool. One thing I especially like about this type of knife is how versatile it is.
It works as a draw knife ,hatchet etc.
 
wow, he is very talented, ncie score for sure. you should get him over here, pronto! :D
 
Sweet, I have to spend more time in the knife section there.
Usually my other personality comes out there though, not thinking about knives.:D
They have a W&S forum there too, never really checked it out.

Thanks guys ,I am really looking forward to getting this knife and hopefully it will be here by Friday. It is a little thinner than most bowies that size so it should be a better user than a big thick one.

CGN is a great place and the wilderness forum is starting to really take off.

It is also a nice place to find knives for sale especially now with the Canadian dollar in the toilet.
 
Conan is a "shooter" too! He likes shooting Black Powder Cartridge Rifles so he's great in my book...he makes awesome knives too.

Wow great to see how many people here spend time at CGN! You guys have to check out the blades and wilderness/survival forums. I need to spend some time on the blackpowder section. Traditional knives are leading into me wanting a couple blackpowder weapons.

Great knife Unsub....it looks like an Ergo BM style blade with the benefit of a classical all wood scandi handle....perfect for your colder climate....very pretty as well! His Damascus work looks brilliant too!
