Reholli, Tuf Glide is pretty good stuff. I use it more as a lube that a protectant but it does both jobs well. A Tough Cloth is really good for quick touch ups and removing finger prints during marathon knife fondling sessions. If you get a tough cloth make sure you go ahead and get a small bottle of tough glide too. Eventually the cloth will dry out and you can bring it back to life with a half a dozen drops of Tuf Glide.
Enjoy:thumbup:
Thanks, spiral...I was going to get both...ahhh, marathon knife fondling sessions...sounds like knifesturbation...
Individual "chemistry" can certainly do this. When I was young, even light perspiration from my hands would remove the blue from a gun in pretty short order. Luckily that changed when I got into my later 20's ... but I've known other guys whose pockets were hell on metal, brass keys turning green, even chromed steel getting deeply rusted and pitted.
Just keep 'em clean, wiping with something like Break-Free CLP or Hoppes #9 should neutralize anything evil, and keep a light coat of oil or protectant on them.
I can relate to this...even now (although no longer young) my fingertips still dissolve plating on metals, newsprint and magazine print almost immediately, and drive my cats into a washing frenzy whenever I pet them...this phenomena was actually worse when I was younger...makes you wonder...
