Someone emailed me with the idea of making a slimmer version of my "badger" knife model. Just an idea......so this knife is for me.

The badger is the smaller knife in this photo.

I decided to give it a go. Here is the result.

There are 2 MAJOR changes for me in this knife:
1) D2! I wanted to give a new steel a try and the best way to evaluate it (for me) is to use it every day.
2) I hand sanded the finish. It sure was a lot of extra work, but it sure does look nice. Not sure if the pictures shows that off well or not.

Personally, I think the knife now looks like a game warden. But, I am really happy with the way it came out.

As always, critiques are welcome.

wow.. both of those look great Brian... i love the natural micarta... nice work man... i really like that badger knife... looks like a perfect little EDC fixed blade..

That looks great. It looks almost like a shrunken version of the bushcrafter, I like it. Of course I don't mind being the proud owner of the 2 in the first pic either :D

Another winner from OTM Custom Knives. Nice job Brian.

Hi Brian, Yea the really looks nice, yea hand sanding does take the elbow grease LOL
sorry we got cut off the other day when we were chatting.

great job man,

Bryan

That is a really good looking knife. Especially like the natural micarta and blade profile.

That micarta looks fantastic, and the handle shape is begging to be held.

I have a Game Warden in my pocket right now and no offence to the GW...but THAT looks way better:thumbup::thumbup:

Awesome knife and the only thing I would change is a bit of a contour towards the blade so the handle was not so "blocky" there, but you made the knife for YOU so YOU obviously want it that way:D:D:D

Nice work, very clean!!!

I like it Brian. Very clean lines and it has a no frills look that is begging to be used.

Very nice looking blade. Begs to be taken out and worked hard ..... how do you carry it?
