Got it yesterday at a gun show and am very pleased. Right after I got it I noticed a light spackling of surface rust, but took advice from Dennis Wright and after a few minutes with oil and 0000 steel wool, it was as good as ever. It is new from the box.
Overall, it's a slightly bigger knife than my old Endura, and this time I opted for a plain edge. This version also seems to cut a little better (slightly thinner edge grind?). Like the Delica '98, it seems to scrape going on and off the pocket, but on the plus side of that, it's less likely to easily slip out of pocket like the older model. Also, I notice with Zytel clips, I perceive them loosening a bit with use...anyone else notice?
Anyway, I just wanted to say the same old thing...Spyderco's done it again and the upgrades are definitely worth it!

Jim - Thanx much for the knd words. Actually the Plastic clip, although it seemed like a good idea, didn't work as well on the larger models. We modified the mold 6 times over a 7 year period to try to sort out the integral clip problems.

The plastic clip did lose some memory over time. Consequently, the "springiness" and therefor tension decreased. Venturing off into "new" never been done before areas, always presents its challenges.

We are pleased with the new metal clip, but are still refining (as always). We made them black, are working with different thread sizes for the "barrel", and are working on ways to make them more furniture and auto paint friendly like the plastic clips were.
