Here's a new linerlock I just finished. This design is my new favorite of all folders I've done. The blade is about 3 1/4" and opened is about 7 1/2". The scales on this one are dessert tan G10, coyote G10 backspacer, heat colored screws and Ti parts. I'd like to give it a name and add it to my reular linup. Name suggestions and knife critique (good and bad) are welcome and very much appreciated. Thanks!

I would say the Sage but I think spyderco might have a trademark on that.

That's a gorgeous knife Ray! Simplistic elegance

Nice looking folder, Ray. Your work is always so clean and smooth, how about Sweep?

What ever the name, looks to be a winner.

- Joe

How about the Goldilocks?

Not too big, not too small, but just right!

The colors on this knife are outstanding! as well as the design, but for you, that seems to go without saying :)
The heat colored hardware is my favorite part! My only critique is that I am yet to see something under 7in from you!

- The Laconico "Comanche" or "Apache"
- The Laconico "Chief"
- RLS1 (Ray Laconico "Supreme" / Special )
- The Laconico "Temper"
- The Laconico "Advantage"
- The Laconico "Grind"
- The Laconico "Stance"
- The Laconico "Travail"
- US - Ultimate user

My girlfriend likes The Laconico "Nexus"
There are so many options because its such an awe inspiring knife! Maybe the person who comes up with the winner should get the chance to buy one ;)

Blade shape looks very flexible (and kinda reminds me of the Demko AD-10). Overall looks very pocketable, slender for the size, deep-ish carry clip, dependable. Always with you, not too fancy, trustworthy.

On that note: "Ally", "Partner", "Canine"?

I will not be happy until I own one of your awesome folders and fixed blades, I think this year will be it.
How about Laconico Desert Coyote

Thanks Mike, I'm glad you like the knife. I'm going to make another one for Al. I might see you guys at the archery shoot in April.

Thanks all for the great suggestions so far. I'm really excited about this model. It will of course come in different handle materials as well as linerlock and framelock versions.

What do you guys think of "Visayan"? Is it too difficult to remember? It refers to the area in the Phillipines where I was born and also the dialect spoken there.

Play on your name:
Ra - like the Egyptian sun god
Loco - Spanish for crazy
Nico ??

But "Scalpel" came to mind when I first saw it..

Great work!

Love it. Visayan is cool, but sounds kind of "ethnic" like parang or kukri. Wraith came to my mind.

Super clean work, like everything you do.

Ray, awesome as usual. If I might suggest, since the exposed blade spine while locked open is part of the design, you might add jimping for grip along the spine where your thumb would fall naturally. And perhaps widen the recessed area in the G10 (not the cutout, just the bevel) that aids in accessing the thumb stud.

As for a name, the overall profile of the knife kinda reminds me of a Loveless drop point, though I'm partial. How about the "Lawndale" or the "LDP" (Loveless drop point)? :)

Just my .02. Love your stuff.

Prof.
