Not my new favorite survival food but damn good! I needed an excuse to post some good pics from Tuna Fishing in the North Atlantic yesterday.

Went with a few buddies tuna fishing yesterday. We left Bristol, CT around 12:30 and got to Harwich Port, MA around 4 am. Our boat departed around 4:30 and we were fishing by 7am. Around 8am, I hooked up the first of two fish for the day. Jimmy, my buddy, hooked up simultaneously. We were trolling squid rigs and the weather held out for the most part. Seas were pretty rough and at least 3 guys on the boat ended up chumming with their lunch. I'm good on the water and haven't been sick since I was a little child. Yesterday, I even felt it a bit. Anyway, the tuna I caught was 49" and weighed in over 100lbs. The tuna Jimmy pulled in was around 45" and about 70 lbs.

I'm cooking it up tonight. Cleaned out and split up among friends, I ended up with almost 40 lbs of fish in my cooler. Can't wait to give it some butter and lemon. Yum!

Nice catch!!! Good meat and easy meals. Did you eat a piece raw yet? I ussaually eat a small sliver. It's a tradition among my friends to eat raw tuna. Can you sushi! YUM..

We all ate some of the "filet mignon" of the fish we caught. The nape of the neck is my favorite part and maybe the belly comes in second. I'm not the biggest fan of sushi but you can't resist eating a handful when it was swimming just hours ago.

Yes, you do see a mora knife in the background. The capt. had a mora or two on board and a few Victorinox butcher knives.

I AM a huge fan of sushi with tuna being my favorite. Unfortunately I will have to let someone ese catch them for me, just looking at the ocean makes me sick. :barf: Chris

Cut the belly part in small chunks (belly part is the best and brings the most money on the marked ). Use soy sauce and wasabi mix togher to taste. Dip some tuna in it and eat it up. Not many things taste as good. I could survive on that long time lol.

Chris im with you i get sick just looking at it. My dad used to have a bigger boat and we went fishing alot. Everyone made fun of me getting sick. One day we went out there and the swell was huge. Would you belive it that i were the only one not getting sick. To get even i refused to take the boat back and just let it sit there with the engines off. They beged me to go back... Im sure you know the feeling, It feels that a 5 year old kid can beat you up and get away with it.. Never felt so helpless as when i were sea sick. I realy feel for you chris.

Nice looking fish. I love tuna as sushi, but its also great out of a can with mayo in a toasted sandwich. In fact I think I might make one right now.
