My new favorites!

Nice 17 with the RATs. And don't worry about the critter crawlin out of somethings ass. They come with their own wrapper, just skin-em out. :D

I just picked up some kydex a month or so ago and my first several attempts have been pretty bad looking. They grip like hell--but just don't have good curves to them.

I was trying to model mine on the RC-4 sheath. How far from the edge of the blade are you placing your rivets? How are you getting the final shape? I've cut mine with a band saw. Are you using a belt sander to finish? I've been looking for an old bench top belt sander that I managed to, "Lose" in the basement. I can't imagine using a handheld belt sander.

Don't mean to overwhelm with the questions!

I'm still hoping for some Rowen kydex!

Chris

Hey Chris, I place the rivets according to where I want them. As long as the kydex is touching in that area, you can place a rivet.

I leave the kydex unshaped until after I set my rivets then I cut out around them with a bandsaw leaving about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of extra for shaping on my 1x30 belt sander.

I did kydex for years with just a hand drill and a Dremel and I got passable results. It's easier now with a drillpress, beltsander, buffer and bandsaw but a Dremel is really all you need.

You have it down to 2  I still don't have it down to 5 yet

Well, I still use all the others at times but these two are the most used. the 4 and Izula come in third and forth with the 6 bringing up the rear.

Those are some sweet looking sheaths!, the one for the 5 is awesome

Thanks, that sheath for the 5 is version 3. First was a foldover but I didn't like how far it stuck out with a Tek-Lok so I did a pancake like this one but I tried to make it compact and the knife wiggled and swayed when I walked so I made this one extra wide and it works like a champ with the paracord.

I call it the Duece Biggelo because when I was making it, I kept saying "that's one big bitch".

Great pair you've boiled down to bro, For me it is the RC3 MIL & THE RC6 ..... I pack the RC6 on every little outdoor excursion....
