My New File Knives

I have several friends here in San Diego who use their Anza knives for hunting. They speak highly of them.

I've a couple to that I've used for hunting. I've had them for years and they've held up very well. Built tough.

Here's one I made. THe knife is better than the picture. I haven't decided what to do for a handle.

Thanks. It's a Scandi grind, which seemed like the easiest profile to file. Rather than making it look like a miniature tanto, I think I'll go with a handle big enough to grip.

Thank you. I think I annealed (or normalized, it's quicker) these in the coals of a fireplace. I tried to harden and temper them in my then new-to-me farrier's forge. I still have a more scandi-shaped one out in the garage. The third one was put briefly in the middle of the coal fire and was burned into a tip, a tang, and a blob.

well, here is the sheath for the wharncliffe i made over the weekend... i am not totally happy with the stitching, but the finish is okay:

Looks great to me Vile. Not happy with the stitching, you could always do a GAW. Nice choice on stamps.
