I just realized that the Idaho date stamp is my favorite of all of them, so I think for awhile I'll focus on trying to get as many Bucks as I can with that stamp. I'm pretty sure that I have a 110 or two with that stamp, but I'll have to go through the rest to see what I already have. This one is already one of my favorites.

I know what you're saying. Twice this year I've been on the fence about a purchase and taken the plunge when the knife had the ID date stamp!

I believe the Idaho stamp is a real collector and that 271 is really something to behold:thumbup::cool:

Hmmm, it sure looks used to me Kevin. That's not a bad price though.

I just got through buying a 121 with the fish scaler notches on the clip that has the Idaho stamp. That's cool because it's my first 121 and also another Idaho!

Dave, I have a 270, 119, 102 and 279 with the Idaho stamp. Will take a picture of them for tomorrow's picture show.

Great looking Durado Dave . These should make a nice collection . I look forward to the pictures tomorrow . DM

I think youre right Dave-cant understand an unused 110 without a sheath, although I did get one from Bear Claw early in the year off the for sale forum. But it was a 100th anny and also a big, big difference in buying from BCCL as opposed to an e-bayer I know nothing about(who may know nothing about Bucks) We'll wait and see. I have had the itch to get and Idaho and never have been able to connect. Yesterday Kay was showing her friend the LE 521 you gave her. Her friend noticed the Idaho stamp, which I hadnt before:confused:. That got the fire going again and when I saw that one last night I figgered I'd giver a shot. I guess we shall see in a few days what condition it is in.

There have been numerous comments lately here on various threads that the Idaho stamp makes it a collector in itself. I agree to a certian extent. It does seem to drive the price up, so I was happy to get it for $24- I think I put a max in at 26.22 or something(the flatlander technique:p) The 2.99 shipping put me way over the edge...I'll buy just about anything if someone is willing to ship it that cheap:D

I remember a seller being pretty emphatic about the 110 he was selling being a collectors item because the Idaho stamp was only used for one year! Hell, isn't that true of all of them made and stamped from '86 on? ;)

I just happen to like the stamp for it's esthetic appeal for me. I think the anvil stamp would also be a "collectable" if it wasn't for the fact that is has been used for customs and LE's all this time. That to me has diluted it's appeal.

I agree, the look of the "picture" stamps and becaue there is a significance to them-100 yr or Idaho move, makes them more collectible, in my mind at least. I guess with the anvil, the upset party should be Custom Shop collectors who have to share thier stamp with everday production knives.:)

That brings a question to mind. When did they start using the anvil on the custom shop and LE knives? Was it before 2002? I know (at least I think I know:confused:) that I have some LE's that don't have an anvil stamp, just a regular date stamp but I don't know what years they are.

Hi Dave,

I also like the Idaho year stamp. But, I like the stag on your little knife even more;). Now I think you should send a chunk of whatever stuff you have that knife sitting on to be made into scales....it's nice stuff, what is it?

Thanks jb. It's Biggs Jasper from Oregon. It would make beautiful scales I think and it's 1/2" to 3/4" thick. I don't know how long it's been around, but it's something my wife picked up years ago. It still has a price tag on the back side marked $1.25. I had a problem getting a good clear picture this morning for some reason, but here's what i came up with.

I wouldn't doubt that if you ask Chuck in years to come, what was the most epic happening at Buck Knives he'd say the move to Idaho . So many had to uproot their families, sell their homes and move to a whole other hemisphere of the U.S.. No small task . I know we wouldn't want to do that . That stamp to me commerates such a momentous undertaking . Noteworthy, toward employees and collectors with knowledge of Buck . DM

Without looking through my collection, I know I have an AG Vanguard, a serrated blade 110 that was on the web specials page for a long time, a folding Alpha and a Dorado. I think there are others.

Wolf, My daughter has in her collection a Alpha and a Durado with that stamp .
I've been searching for the date as to when Buck began using that stamp as 'Custom' stamp and haven't found it in print . Perhaps Richard Matheny or some others know . However, Buck took over Richard Rochells 'Custom' efforts in like 2007 and it was at that time (or shortly after) they began using that stamp . I think I'm close . DM

I have a 111 with the Idaho stamp and cut out, signed by Chuck, with Cabela's lazer ethched in the handle. Found it at Cabel's during the twenty year event. HL

This year I bought two Alpha Hunter on ebay.0277RWS-BFolding Alpha Hunter®
They both are with this symbol etched 2005.They both are NIB.
They both were very cheap at their auctions.
First Alpha Hunter 154 CM ,Bos heat treated, it was with the duck head and with superscription "Idaho Sponsor" on the blade.
I presented it to my friend ,he is hunter and he was very glad to have this knife.

The other one is at my place. ATS 34 with the superscription "Buck Pro Line " on the blade.
This knife has the lifetime warranty and lifetime resharpening from the Buck Co.
