My New Gen 1 XM

Wow....I've followed this thread from a distance being new to the Hinderer 'family', but that knife is stunning after the work they did to refurb it! History....and a 'new' knife!!

Good looking refurb. Enticed to beat her up again (seeing how nice she cleans up afterwards)?

Oh, I have no compunctions whatsoever on using this knife. It's in my pocket ready for action....

Glad to read that! It'd be a shame if she wound up a paperweight. After seeing just how nice it cleaned up, it speaks volumes for the original quality and longevity of these tool. And says a great deal about the skill of the maker(s) too.

Thanks for overlooking my obvious misspelling, darn posts from phone...lucky it was even intelligible.

Seriously, people should take note of the before and after pics of this knife. It was a heavy user for 6 years before I got it. Sharpened many times, blade was all scratched up. Now, other than a few deep scratches that can't be blasted away and that you can barely see, this knife looks and feels and flies open like a brand new knife. Use the knife!

The thing is, it even wore those 6 years of use very well. When I held it, I could tell that it'd been used, but no real 'wear' on it. All kinds of life left in that thing!

So is that little 3" jealous? :D

I'm carrying both so they're getting along swell! The 3" still gets more daily use for the string and the tape and the boxes and the plastic, etc.... Gen 1 sliced up a big box yesterday that our new couch came in and that was a lot of fun... like a hot knife through butter.

I'm surprised that cardboard didn't part like the Red Sea at the mere sight of that knife! :D :D :D

A couple of small details that I really appreciate and love about the Gen 1...

Note the torq screws on the clip and clip filler...

and the handle screw nuts are actually rounded on top and protrude over the surface of the handle.

WOW! Beautiful knife Maprik! Congratulations. The torq screws on the clip and filler tab were a really nice touch.
