Ah-slippage-got's ya! I had the same problem, but ended up going with a bigger dia. drive wheel. (I was looking for higher belt speeds, and the bigger dia. seems to sto the slippage.) It took care of both problems at once!

I have been using the 20lb gas spring on mine for almost 2 years and I love it so far. I had a surplus of them at work off of old fixtures and incorporated one into mine..I think I may even have a few kicking around somewhere.

Fired her up today.
Runs smooooth.
Tracks like a dream.
Has more stroke on the tensioner than my KMG, so belt changes are a little easier.
20# spring seems to be the right one for this configuration.
Built a bench and mounted it and my KMG on it, as they share the VFD for now.
