That is SWEET! I wish Buck would make a regular version of that.

HD seems to like those big big knives for its commemoratives. They also used a 919 Mountain Bowie which is about 1/2 inch shorter.

Telechronos:):):)

Here is a photo of a 903 Bowie with a 909 Mountain Bowie......big blade sweetness!

Hi Armand,
The 919 Mountain Bowie is the blade you have with no handle. The 905 Mountain Man bowie in another knife and I don't think it was ever made as a HD LE.

Thanks JB, I thought the blade that I have is a 909 HD Superglide... I guess the 919 as a plain blade (samething)... I have one somewhere... I still want a smaller 905 Mountain Man with a Buffalo on the blade or a plain blade with a stag handle... Your right, I don't think the 905 was ever made for HD either... ITE ...

Dang Armand your are correct. 909= Mountain Bowie, the 919= Apache Bowie the smaller version of the 909.

FYI, according to the log book Buck only made about 120 of the model 909 Mountain Bowie. There were about 150 of the model 919 Apache Bowie and maybe 320 of the 905 Mountain Man Bowie. The 905 number includes the all customs plus the "b" series and catalog units. I wish I knew what was meant by "b" series.
Another caviat to this info is that these were some of the models used for employee service awards and there is a separate log for those counts. Some of the service award knives ARE included in these numbers. I hope your not as confused as I am now?

Thanks Joe, for all the info... Now I know why I can't find a 919 Apache Bowie... I never see them for sale... I got my 909 Mountain Bowie, like JB's by luck... I hope I find a 905 Mountain Man Bowie soon... That's my favorite one of the three... ITE ...

Joe, if you ever find out what "b" series means, please let us know... Thanks...
