My thanks to 110Dave for doing the leg work on this while I was gone! I should have the ones for me and my buds in the next few days. Really looking forward to seeing them in person.
Took a lot of searching to get the lapis there and for the man to understand just how large I needed the slabs cut. Was a lot of starts and stops since I would be gone for weeks to other parts of the country and couldn't always link back up with him to inspect them/pay for them.
Paid one guy up front for some of them only to never see him again. Not sure what happened to him or the payment. He may still be looking for me with the slabs, never know.
This forum and many of the members were a real help to me while I was gone, part of my connection back to the world and great to have someone like 110Dave and Dave Yellowhorse to go out of their way to help some Soldiers.
Thanks!
This is a very cool thread and what a story to go with these beautiful and unique knives. Steve a heart felt thanks to you and your fellow fighting men who risked life and limb for our freedom. I hope all of your deserving pals in theater enjoy and appreciate these works of art, they are truly one of a kind medals of honor for real hero's:thumbup:
Please tell your pals "Thank you all for your service and sacrifice, it's what makes this country great"!
