Thanks so much everyone! I was real excited for this and its good to finally have it up.

As I mentioned, there will be more pictures added soon. Also I would love to add more to the site and any ideas are welcomed. The gallery might be changed a bit in order to make it easier to view more knives. Check back periodically for updates.

I just want to say that announcing this site has already been a rewarding experience. I received a couple of emails from knife collectors my age and even younger who are interested in or collect similar stuff as I do. It feels great to know that there will be collectors as the years go on. Also its great to be able to communicate with these people and make some new knife friends.

Thanks again, everyone!

Looks great, Jon. I like it and I love the animated knife graphic on the home page! What about a slideshow function for each gallery?

Well the sites not new anymore, but we just did alot of updates. Check it out if you have a moment.

Still hope to add new knives in the coming months. A few on my mind, but no done deals yet..

Hi Jon,

You have raised the bar on the collecting experience in the internet age. I'm glad you have!

Talk to your webguy and see if you can arrange to have photos clickable to 'Next & Previous'. That would eliminate the back and forth from thumb, to open large, to close, to thumb, to open large, to close..... etc.

You may want to look into jalbum different skins you can integrate, and it's all FREE. :)

Thanks guys, and Coop for the idea. At this point my guy is so busy I can hardly get him to do updates when I want, unless they are very important (for sale section) and I don't think he would be able to do this right now. However its a great idea and something I will keep in mind in the future.

Thanks!! I may play around with one of those free website makers anyway.. who knows. Maybe I will prefer being able to do it all myself, even if its not totally custom. Right now that sounds very useful.

Comments and criticism are welcome
Make the font more white on the "home page"
It's really hard to read with out highlighting/selecting the text

Make the main JPG/logo on the top clickable to==>
http://www.jonbrandcollection.com/index.php
???

I'm indifferent betweeen scrolling and clicking on idividual pics
or
A slideshow with NEXT,PREV
Actually, the more I think about it I like the scrolling and clicking on individual pics
Maybe make a slideshow "option"?

After you click on a pic ===>
It opens up a new window
There is a CLOSE button:confused:
Make the pic "fit" to the full window
Then you just close out the window using the normal X button on top right of window

I like the knife construction pics!!
Now all you need is to hook up a live webcam in your shop to my new ForgeCams.net page:eek:
Just kidding
I haven't gotten that one off the ground yet:o

Jon,

Very well done. You have some impressive pieces and a very nicely put together site. I like it a lot.

Enjoy NY, Jon

Jon, this is the beauty of the jalbum integration. Once it's installed YOU update your photos and descriptions quickly, easily. You can leave the other menus alone.

Secondly, you can also edit your text on pages with (2) cheap (or free) pieces of software: An HTML editing program and an FTP file transfer program.

I'll talk to you in person about this. Believe me, it's easy on a site as simple as yours.

Ask your webguy if he has a problem handing you over the keys (website password) for now and then changes. I suspect he'd be relieved.
