Wow is the only word I can begin to describe my new Marbles Trailmaker.

I like the stag bone because it won't rot like leather over the years and just looks more rugged and classy all together. To me it SCREAMS Dundee- which I have been enamored with since i saw it as a kid. I am also not a fan of brass guards mixed with aluminum butts. I paid $143 (plus shipping) for this knife that retails around $300. I have yet to test it but plan on doing so with a 2x4 soon!

That's a sweet knife. I agree with you on the brass/aluminum mix, I like the setup on yours much better.

Very nice, CorpsmanUP! Enjoy it!

I'm a big fan of Marbles (and just about any knife made up in Michigan's Upper Penninsula)

Now, THAT's a knife! ;) I wouldn't mind one of those myself. I have a Fieldcraft and the edge was excellent right out the box. Yep, that's a sweet knife.

The edge was shaving sharp right out of the box! -The few people I've shown it to were amazed that it came that way.

damn straight USA. as I get older I find myself checking country of origin more and more and buying foreign less and less.

Gonna resurrect this thread since I just got a dead nuts mint (Not mint anymore as of yesterday, hehe) Trailmaker from what I think is from around the same era as the OP's.

It even came with the original box and cardboard blade sleeve, as well as the wrapping paper. It should be noted that the box and cardboard sheath said "Marbles", not "Marbles Outdoors".

Great pics and comments, you guys. Corpsman, I can't tell from your pic ... is your blade stamped Marbles USA or just Marbles? I hope you got a US piece.

I was fortunate enough to buy a Trailmaker with stacked handle and stag butt cap shortly before Marbles stopped making US knives. I'd have preferred an all-stag handle like Corpsman's (for the same reasons he prefers it), but I must admit that the leather is comfy. More comfy than KA-BAR's stacked leather, IMO.

How do you guys plan on using your TMs? Now that this beauty is no longer being made, I'm reluctant to "make trails" with mine. :(
