I can shoot out to about 25 yards in my back yard. When I practice I start at a spot (distance undetermined) and shoot an arrow. Then I either walk forward or backwards a few steps and take another shot. Do this back and forth until I have shot all my arrows. That way I do not stand in one spot and shoot. I shoot truely instinctive, I pick a spot, stare at it and when I hit anchor the arrow is gone. I am very poor at judging distances so I can not use gap or string walking as a method. I have been shooting one bow (recurve) for about 12 years, now I have this awesome shooting longbow.
