I drew up a design for an all around camp knife and worked out a deal with mr. Stephan Fowler for its creation. I got it last week and headed out to the desert on Saturday. Here are a few glamor shots. Besides staging for pictures, i was out collecting some desert ironwood for handle material. I pounded through several dead ironwood branches ranging from 2" diameter up to 5" diameter. I returned home and broke up the wood some more to find some nice inner pieces. After all was said and done it would still push cut paper and showed no signs of being used. I had Stephan leave a little steel protruding from the butt for flint sparking and I was able to toss sparks with some jasper that I had found.

1095 steel
flat grind convex edge
6" blade about 3/16ths thick
forged finish flats
curly maple handle
mosaic pins

I love the blade shape on that knife.

I have handled a couple of his knives and I like them, he puts a great edge on it. Enjoy!

Nice looking knife! Simple, useful design, and it lends itself well to the forged finish.

That's nice. Nice design, workmanship, choice of materials...
I like Stephan's work and I like his attitude.

That knife turned out great. :D

Stephan builds a serious knife, and your design looks awesome as a Fowler.

Based on the experience I’ve had using my Custom Stone Mountain, I bet that knife is a savage performer.

Thanks all for the comments! I will be using this bad boy as my main go to knife for a long while. I know I can beat on it with everything I have, some finer detail and camp kitchen work will be the next test.

awesome, thanks for all the comments guys.

It's feedback like this that really pushes me to do better on every knife.

Stephan

VERY NICE !,, It looks to be a knife that would last a lifetime doing BIG knife jobs w/o having to carry a BIG knife around.
