My new Sebenza! And a question for Sebenzanistas!

A few months ago on another thread, someone asked what type of Sebenza they would like to see. I said "a small 'benza with a clip point blade, keep it simple". Little did I know they had already made one and thanks to fellow Forumite "Copfish", I just got mine today....

Thanks Fish!!

Now for the question. What is the general consensus of the "Sebenzanistas" concerning the lanyard. Leave it on or take it off? Having it hang out might aid in drawing it, but it also draws attention to it. Good or bad? I've been carrying it with it. It just doesn't seem like a Sebenza without it!
Hope you all have a Happy New Year!!!!

I removed mine the second day.For me the lanyard on a knife with a clip is just in the way.I did not want to take it off at first but on the next day it had to be carfully removed.

I took mine off, too bulky.
Replaced it with a nice flat braided piece of braided (Bladeforum blue) leather.

All a matter of individual choice.

I have the same problem. I just got a small Sebenza for Christmas and like the way it looks with the lanyard, but not when it's in my pocket. I'm going to take it off and try it. You can always put it back.

Like the way they look with the lanyard on, but a little to obtrusive for everyday carry for me. Took it off!

I also took mine off on my small, the second day I had it. It just got in the way. I have always hated lanyard's anyway.

Took mine off, though I leave it on the Umfaan, the sheath for that, it's such a small knife that I use the lanyard to remove the knife, the others I have the pivot end exposed on the sheaths and they remove and are ready to thumb open so I removed them.

As they said, it's a matter of taste and if you find it useful, I've had trouble trying to retie one so pay close attention when you untie it! St James has a reference in his FAQ post on tying the knot, for a lanyard that is...

I couldnt decied on mine either...After spending $325 on a knife I hated to change anything about it. On the third day I had to take it off just to see...I replaced it with a multi color camo para-cord, I really liked the looks of it better and it helped to personlize it just a bit for me.

I took it off of my large because it seem to get in the way if you had to open the knife real fast.I still have it on my small.

I replaced the black w/a blue nylon cord to complement the thumbstud, same hangman's knot. I carry a large plain in a belt pouch, and the fob/lanyard makes for easier draw.

Mine is off, and I prefer my small Sebenza that way for jeans, but I like having it there on the slash pockets of most other casual and dress pants.

I sayt try it each way and see how you like it best.
