My new shop knife...

nice. looks a little like it's inspired by the Fogg-Fikes cloud cutter/dragonfly? did you grind it out of CPM M4??

Yes, I asked Jimmy if I could copy his design, and he said yes.
No, it's not M4. That would be a lot of belts. ;) This was forged from 1095.

cmott69, it's about 1/4" thick, 2-3/8" wide at the widest, and about 33" long.

Tommegow, yes, definitely room for both hands on the handle.

Sharp_newbie, "shop knife" was more tongue in cheek than anything. I can't think of anything I would use it in my shop for, but I am going to keep it and use it for things like trimming trees, and cutting weeds too big for the mower to handle.

Marekz, the top edge is ground thin enough to sharpen, but it's not sharp yet.

Keith, good idea. I'll probably do that when I make a highly polished, "safe queen" version. I knew I'd be keeping (and using) this one, so I didn't want to spend a lot of time on the finish. It has a scotchbrite finish.

Nick, I almost did that with this one, but decided to keep it simple. I'll probably do that with the next one I make.

Dan, the POB is about 1-1/2" forward of where the edge starts. It's a little too blade heavy, in my opinion.

Thanks everyone for your comments and questions. :)

You could really gig a mutha with that one! Surely, it ought to keep the door to door salesmen away. :D
