I can't really review it yet for EDC but I sure can comment on the magnificent fit and finish, cool design, handle comfort and superp functionality of this knife. I know we hear a lot of loosely used descriptions comparing $200 knives to $400 knives but this Spyderco BV comes as close to that as any $200 knife I have had in a long time. The other one would be the ZT 0551. I'll just post pictures for now then come back after I carry her for a while. I do not intend to get rid of this knife at this point in time - it's way too nice! It's not small or slight and it isn't as thin profiled as one may think before they handle one. This thing stands up fine to the Umnumzaan and SMF CC as you can see. Wow!

definitely underestimated this one when I first saw it. looks phenomenal. Still not sure about the whole spyderhole/thumbstud thing. But really love the blade on it.

I hear you on the hole hump but in reality, the side profile is actually less wide than the SMF and almost as wide as the Zaan - the difference just being that the hump is isolated to the thumbhole area rather than the length of the closed knife ;)

When this knife opnes it CLACKS with authority when the locking liner (it seems more of a MWLL/frame lock hybrid like the PPT) and honestly, I have not felt the smoothness of the action compared to how solid this knife locks up. It's noticably rock solid both vertically and horizontally. If the clip wasn;t there this might have one of the best handle comfort that I have personally owned. For my hand anyway.

I agree - if you like Spydercos as a rule it's a good looking knife for sure but you have to handle one to get the real picture . . . ;)

Gorgeous pics. Very helpful, too, particularly the overhead ones showing how the blade (and handle) thickness compares to that of the Umnumzaan and SMF. It's far more robust than I would have thought from the slim side profile shown in the stock photo. I might have to pick one up now!

Great looking knife. I just wish Spyderco had recessed the locking liner more to match the cut out.

There's a good chance you won't regret it. And thanks :)

Great pictures! Looks like a really nice knife. Only thing that would totally sell me on it would be a lockback instead of a liner lock.

Great pics as always!

Would you be able to post up a pic of the spine, particularly the thumb ramp area?

Those thumbstuds and the hole hump kill it for me. If it was a D/A auto I would have bought one.

I do like the tip and the G-10 looks pretty good. Meh, I guess it's just not for me.
