Very useful piece of gear. I do all my assembly on a stiddy. Yours, of course, is a work of art, just like your knives!

From the continual outcome(s), you'd think that was Wile E. Coyote's mantra. ;)

:rolleyes::)

Back on topic, that's a very nice job on the stiddy, Jared!
I am lucky enough to have found an old one, and it is indeed the perfect tool for pocket knives!! Yours looks very well thought out!

That's really nice, I'd love to see the numerous ways that a stiddy is used in benefit over a simple anvil.

There's something magical about specialty tools used by craftsmen.

Jared, what is the notch in the non thin side for? I had read that it was for adjusting blades so they didn't hit each other, but I can't wrap my head around that.

Thanks Charlie, I took inspiration from a thread you started a while back while designing my stiddy.

Brian, I think it was used to place the spine of the blade in the slot and actually bend it so it stopped rubbing the other blade. I probably won't use mine for that, I find I use the slot by sliding the temporary pin in there while disassembling knives.

Entirely, admittedly off-topic, but should I ever have the privilege of fostering kitten babies again, I am so naming two of them Stiddy and Harig.

Hope your still-new Stiddy is working out well for you, Jared. By the ongoing results, I'd say "yes." :)

Cool Kitties!!
I like the hints of steely grey in their coats and eyes!

I've decided to name my Stiddies in honor of your kittens, ~P. :eek:
Meet Fluffy and Lynx!!
