On Friday 13th. My home was vistited by Hurricane Charlie :grumpy: My roof was very badly damaged, my ceilings leaked water into all rooms of my home except for the master bedroom and my sons room. Several windows were blown out. I was without water and electrity for 12 days. Good news is just after the US mail servive was restored I recieved my custom Roger Linger 6" bladed 1075 Survial/Camp knife. My Backyard looked like a war zone with down tree everywhere. I have been very busy chopping up fallen branches and downed tree with my new knife. This blade really holds an edge and can really do a great job hacking up wood.

Sorry about your loss and glad that no one was injured in your family. Great news that the US Postal Service delivered and the knife has not failed you.

Prosperity to you for future endeavors

Dang, pictures would not come up! Ol' Roger is the best of the best, ain't he? Too bad about your storm damage, friend. I hope thing get back to normal and am really glad all you are OK!

If you post a pic of the backside of the knife or spine, would be great! thanks!

RickJ,
I will post some photos of the spine when I get my knife back from the sheath maker.

But, in the mean time here are a few early shots.

I really love when custom knife makers keep you updated with your knife progress by emailing photos. Just too cool. :D

It helps make the wait less anxious. I remember when I used to order semi-inletted rifle stocks. They promise a delivery date and it always seemed to double. Never being contacted and waiting and waiting. I decided not to do that to my knife owners. I might run a little over schedule at a time or two but it is important to keep in touch.

Was this your design? Or was this a knife the knife maker had on his Web Site! I would like to have the same knife in S30V and a nice wood handle like your first wood lore knife, what kind of wood was that again?

My design, Roger can make you anything, just shoot him a email and he can easily make you this knife in S30V if you want. :D

Hey Myakka,

Are you ready for Ivan?
I'm in S.E. Cape Coral and just got a little beat up by Charlie.
We were without electrity for 7 days and a boil water notice for five. I've got a genarator and a MSR MIOX, so we were o.k. on that front!
You folks got the snot knocked out of you!
I hope Ivan does'nt pound us too bad...

Stay safe

Rich G,

It sure looks like Ivan is heading our way, My power was out foe 13 days and so far I looking at $35,000 worth of damage. :( My roof cant take another beating, or my house will be really flooded. :(

keep your fingers cross, that Ivan passes us.

The http://www.noaa.gov/ site is a great tracking aid.
If it hits the fan and you need help give me a call.
Shoot me an e-mail and I'll give you my phone number.
On another note do you go to Myakka park often? When I lived in Bradenton I'd take my canoe there often.

I have hiked every trail and camped at all the primative sites at the Myakka State park. When it not under-water, I try to hike there at least twice a month. :D
