Hello Myakka,
Just went through a cat~2 and cat~3 with in Three Weeks of one-and-the-other, courtesy of the twin bitches, Hurricane's Frances and Jeanne, here in my nieghborhood over on the other coast. We got the severe southern eyewall both times and the eye passed just to the north(no break in the storm) of us both times.. Was living off my generator and my gass grill and half a dozen coolers for many many moons as you did both storms... I had roof damage as well, but you got it worse it sound like. I to lost numerous trees, some of my favorite old palms and black olives and several big pole pines... Me and my Poulan chainsaw, Bill Keeler axe~hawk and old Ruana Bowie have be come inseperable since last month... Sounds like you and I have been living dual lives as it were.
Anyway, I am glad your family and mine both came through it all unscaved! I also want to Thank You for the line on that great design and the eventual birth of that bad boy Roger produced out of it. I would also like to Thank You for the Bushcraft Site that I got off your tag line! Great Stuff! Really Great thread!!

I sorry to hear you got it from the storms also, I'm still trying to clean up my backyard, like you, my best friends are my 18" Poulan chainsaw, afew hand saws, axes, and the Linger Camp knife. Frances didnt do much damaged to me and my family except for blowing of my temperary roof repairs, but Jeanne wasnt as freindly, she blow over the rest of my damaged trees and hurt my already crippled roof, and bought alittle more water damage, even though she did not bring us much rain, just alot of heavy wind.
I'm glag you and your family are safe, and hopefully life down here will get back to normal after a while.
