My new toothpick by Burt Foster

That's a beauty for sure.
Love cocobolo and the contrasting hammered copper pins add a nice affect.
Congrats.

The pictures make you want to pick it up and take a few whacks:D

Your description ("toothpick") had me looking for a folder!

Awesomeness. Who caught the envelope with the red sealing wax and his mark?

Making simple beautiful = Burt Foster. :)

Awesome!

I picked up on Burt after finding his Popular Mechanics (?) article online...

Thought I'd give his knives a try, but patience is not my virtue so I pulled the trigger on a laminated large Dark Side that he had in stock.

Beautiful little necker...my only regret was not also buying his leather sheath!

Good score dude!

Wow, if that's what a user looks like from Burt, I can't imagine what the high end stuff constitutes....

Thanks for the comments ! I'm sure Burt will appreciate that.

Burt's initial project was to parctice for the "Battle of Bladesmiths" : building a knife
with a hand hammer in 2 hours. In the end he has spend more than 2 hours on this knife but here is its story.

Burt, if you're around and if I made a mistake in how thi sone was born, please correct me.

I've tried a coupling lately....maybe I'll end with another one, big camp with laminated blade !
Well I'm not fond of the "bondage" stuff but it's this configuration that works the best.

With that setup you can do it all in style

Not crazy about the inverted small blade carry but I am sure it is secure.

I have long been a huge advocate of the small knife big knife combo vs the one mid size blade

Congrats again

Not sure how I missed this the first time through, but I love it, especially the proud, hammered copper pins. Copper and brass sure look great against dark, reddish figured wood. The as-forged flats just set-off everything else. A thorough winner.

Those are great looking knives, and make a very functional combo. Congrats.
