Just got this one in the mail today, and I cant keep my hands off of it!:D More of these PR's with micarta should have been done, it makes for a great knife! Anyone have figures on how many were done like this? And it measures out at a little more than 1/4" thick. I think its INFI but not sure, the dimples are there though. What do yall think? And what kind of carry method should I make? This one would strangle me off the neck!!

And yea, I BARELY beat out a couple a hogs for this one!!:D

Ploice Recruits rock!

I would also agree that the dimples would indicate INFI.

Congratulations

I'd agree that the dimples would suggest INFI, however I would also have to question whether it was a factory handle. Neither the fasteners or overall finish of the slabs have the "Busse" appearance to them.

I'm dying of curiousity on this one, where did you get it?

Were they ever made with Micarta handles? Since that guy
was so new did you have him mail it to you first?

I've seen a few with presentation grade ironwood from the factory, but none with micarta have been seen with my eyes.

I think a nice little Carbon Fiber kydex holster with a large tec-loc would realy look nice with that one & set off the canvas markita scales.:D :p

You asked Leather Bender!!!!:p

As I look at my 5/16th INFI SH2 I would totally disagree. The Micarta is almost the same. Makes me wonder if some one re-handled a SH and salvaged the micarta for a PR?

Here is a pic

I took a chance on this guy, he is friends to one of the better known forumites on KF so I was reasonably at ease.
He said that he got it a few years back and its supposed to be original. The black coat was removed out of choice. The fastners are the usual tubes and they are the same size as the tubes on my other Busse's. The appearance of the micarta is very similar to that on my straight handle knives, a rough canvas micarta and is the same color as well. I too am very curious about this one, any ideas Jerry?

I'll take a side by side pic with my SH BA to show the micarta similarities. Hopefully someone will shed some light on this one. I love these old knives!:D

EDIT: I just went and grabbed my A2 Steel Heart and put them right next to each other and BINGO! They are identical micartas! THis is getting interesting!

Really? If you've got some in hand you'd know better. I'm looking at all my pics and see a totally different finish to the micarta.

In my post the handle looks darker, but in good light it looks a whole hell of a lot like that PR's micarta.

The PR looks like the Micarta was smoothed with sandpaper, probably while it was refinished (all just my humble opinion)

If it is an original handle, a refinish would explain a lot. Could the MVA be right? do I really need glasses?.....na they must be wrong :D

Nice Dwayne! What are you doing parading my knife around, eh?:D
Carry method? I would suggest you put it in a suitable box and carry it off to the post office to send it to me!:p
Congrats buddy, looks great!

i can't tell if it is factory or not:confused: regardless it is a good score and really cool.
