My new website... looking for feedback!

^^ Uggh. That ain't right.

The more I hear about WordPress sites, the less I like them.

oh crap..what now?! I saw that earlier today when I first woke up.. but it was only temporary.

Yeah... it might be Wordpress. But it might also be my server. I'm using Godaddy which is a very budget server and I thought I would continue with it if it seemed to be running things well. but....??? May have to upgrade. I have no idea why you guys are seeing that. I've re-set all my browsers, cleared cache etc... and everything looks fine. I have a mac and I'm trying it on Chrome too.

Egads. I'm going to make knife.

I saw that version(?) last night, but when I looked at the site today it was updated. Maybe weird caching issues?
 
Sorry I tested in every browser save for IE(any version) and safari as there are no linux(geek alert) versions and I tested about 7 originally. I tested on a different computer and they all showed correctly on the latest versions of those two browsers. There should be no comparability errors with that CSS is very standard so I would put my money on a cache error like you said. I would also suggest that anyone with out the latest version of internet explorer upgrade now or choose a different browser haha. Hope this stuff didn't take up to much of your time.

All looks good for me.

I had that issue with chrome also but clearing the cache fixed it for me. It is a very strange problem. If I find anything on it I will pass it along.

EDIT---
Looking at that screenshot, as I haven't been able to recreate the error, it seems like what is happening there is that the page is only loading the xhtml for the page and not pulling in anything outside of the xhtml file like the CSS or photos. I don't really know how wordpress works so I couldn't say if the error is with wordpress or godaddy servers or if there was some kind of permissions error. I only got that error when I first visited the site and after I cleared the cache I had no issues. I assumed it was just an error on my end.

I know that I've changed that setting a few times for things other than using for my website so I wonder if Patrice saw some exceptions??? Also.. some images must just have more information in them in terms of colors or.. something.. because I've noticed that some save at higher kbs using the same method.

I've just checked 4 other random pics and they were 201, 237,286, 331. Still a little chunky. Compressed the 286kb with Gimp and came out at 180kb, no visual difference. If you want to send me a full sized pic and the saved version I can take a look to see what can be done.
And yes some images have more info, light, color, etc but you should still be able to have much smaller pics.

And making a knife is a good idea. You've already done a lot of work with the website and we are talking tweaking things here so nu rush.
 
I say the website looks fine haha I want to see more knives looking at this page for so long has been quite a pleasure haha.
 
Thanks so much for all the help folks!

I will see what I can do to compress images. When I did the changeover... somehow I brought many of the images over twice.. so I have duplicates of many things. They aren't all being used of course.. but I wonder if that can slow the system down.

The main thing now is to work on the content of the gallery images.... full knife specs and other details.
