My new WSK, pic heavy

I just received my new WSK knife from a gentlemen knife maker down in Arkansas, Mike Maniord. A great guy to deal with, goes above and beyond for the customer. The knife has incredible balance. Feels excellent in hand, the grip fits perfectly like a glove. The blade is blued with double row serrations. And what I like most about the serrations is that they are not to close to the tip of the blade. The blade is 1/4" thick O-1 tool steel. The knife is 11 7/8 inches overall with a 4 3/8 inch front blade and a 2 1/2 inch draw to the hook. The 2 3/4 inches of saw teeth along the spine is double row, filed this by hand using a taper file. The handle is black micarta with three brass pins and a brass lanyard tube. The Sheath is made from 9 ounce leather made with double end cap rivets throughout and hand sewn, just super strong. Multi-carry option with right or left securing strap.
I am extremely overwhelmed with Mr. Maniord's craftsmanship. My only regret is that I didn't order another. Here are some pic's for your viewing.

Jules

Let us know how the Saw teeth work. Seems a lot are leaving off the teeth because there are few designs that work well.

I have a WSK made by a Hankins that I like but have thought of grinding the teeth off and the edge is a bit thick to do any fine work like fuzz sticks.

I cannot tell from the pics but is that a high polish on the blade? Very cool knife and looks like a serious Tool that can take a beating. Thanks for sharing!

Maybe you could pass on the makers contact information in case others wish to order this knife as well.

May I also ask what you paid for this fine knife?

Ren, I just received an email back from Mike, he's all OK with putting out his information for future inquiries.

machab6@yahoo.com or www.maniordknives.com

He's still inthe process of building his web site, but you can get a hold of him through that or his email. I happen to stumble on his work over @ the bay ...surprising enough. His work is outstanding. And prices are fantastic. At the bay, as seller ( machab6 ) this one went for $276.00 and at first I thought it might be somewhat of a gamble. But when this WSK arrived this afternoon, WOW! perfect detail in every way. In all honesty, I can't say enough about the knife. I can't wait to use it!

That looks awesome, one of the nicest WSK's I have seen !!!

Thanks bro!

Looks cool...I like the big handle. Gene

Very nice WSK. Looks like quality work. Interesting sawteeth too, I am curious to see how they work for you. Overall a super nice knife.

I'm sort of new to the Forums, so I'll just say howdy.

That's a really nice sheath. In fact, it's one of the nicest I've ever seen for a tracker.

That is sweet and a hell of a price, a lot of work goes into one of those. The saw teeth are different, let us know how they work.

Can't wait to hear what RedScorpionsix thinks of this WSK. Really polished blade, very stylized in WSK.

Nice, Jules!

This custom is less than the TOPS tracker knife which retails for $299. Please let us know how it performs!

Looks GREAT!! I am curious about how the straight-line saw teeth notch. I like the sheath design, but it looks like it may have a tendency to tilt with only one loop. How does it ride?

Let us know how the handle works when chopping. When the corners are kinda squared it can cause discomfort while chopping. Very nice looking WSK though. Like that it came with a leather sheath. Don't see that much. I am also curious to see if the sawback works well or plugs up.

That looks great Jules!

Helluva good deal for that set-up.

Also interested to see how the saw pans out.
