I got this ETAK, 3 plus weeks ago, and it has been my constant companion ever since. I love the blade shape, and for me, the handle ergonomics are outstanding. I have been carrying this in my left front pocket, as a backup emergency blade. My CQC7V rides in my right front pocket, and performs EDC duties. Size and weight wise it is fine, I usually forget its there. It waves perfectly every time, unless I don't want it too.
This is also one of the sharpest edges out of box I have ever seen. Maybe even THE sharpest. Lock up is perfect, no blade play in any direction, and blade centering is good ( not perfect but good, it is slightly to the left, but nowhere close to rubbing the liner other than that, no fit and finish issues at all). The action was stiff at first, but I played with it a lot, and after the first couple of days it broke in nicely, and is now very smooth. The lockup was VERY early when I got it, but now sits at just full lockbar width engagement, and has not moved (and I have been playing with this blade A LOT).
This is in my opinion one of the best tactical folder designs ever. At least it is everything I want in a TAC folder design: tanto tip, but has a bit of curve so it can slice decently, (more like a Japanese tanto design than the standard americanized tanto. I like it) just under 4 inches, long enough so I feel like I'm holding a substantial blade, but not so large that it is too cumbersome in the pocket (at least for me, I am 6'3" 220 lbs. YMMV), and a handle that really locks your hand in, and works well in both forward and reverse grip, and for its size, it's weight is reasonable. It is lighter than my super 7, and several other blades of similar size.
I would recommend this knife to anyone looking for a large hard use tactical folder. If you like Emersons and haven't handled the ETAK yet, do yourself a favor and try one out. I think Ernie hit it out of the park with this one.
Of course this is all just IMHO. Thanks for taking the time to look at my thread.

And here's the new addition in a family portrait.
