Hey everyone! I wanted to share some photos and thoughts on my newest Mistress. I've gone through a number of Busse knives trying to find my favorite one. Those include a NMFFSH, NMFBM, SAR8, BJ, TTKZ, FSH, SHSH2, Ruck Kensey, Sus Scrofa, SARsquatch, ASH1, NMSFNO, SAR3, MOAB, AMS-MO, and TGLB. Out of all those the only one I ever used was my first one, the Fat NMFSH. Push forward almost 8 months and I’m left with just this one Busse knife.

So here is my FBM (CBT-less) sitting in the trough at Knob Creek just waiting to be snatched up. I want the thank Mark for selling me this beauty!

And after taking a trip from Kentucky up to Indiana, then down to Tennessee, I received her yesterday.

I decided I’d take her out back and get her a little dirty when I got home from work.

I only tried her out on two trees in my back fence row, but she was sure wanting to take on some more :)

And here she is all cleaned up. There is a little smoothing of the coating, but no damage to the edge.

I must say that this .25 inches it swings much better than the .37 NMFSH I previously owned. I know this is expected with the weight difference.

I didn’t get a chance to baton anything yesterday but expect it to work just as well as the NMFSH.

Anyways, I just wanted to share my excitement for the FBM! I can’t wait to take her out again this weekend to see what she can really do :D

Hmm, I believe she might need a pair of pants now too :)

Thanks Jerry!
These are a darkened tequila sunrise, maybe call them tequila sunset
They're more of a dark purple, maroon, and gray.

Very nice, congrats.

'swings much better'. I like that. The original CGFBM with the CBT is one of my most preferred all-rounders. There have been some SE variants at 0.27" thick with a flat grind that some folk claim to be the best of the FBM line. It looks like yours has a high saber grind? or is that a full flat grind? In either case, it very good looking and good on you for putting it to use.

Oh, now I LIKE those scales!!!!
Very, very nice!!!! :D

Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Someone remind me never to go to a knob creek or blade....I wouldn't be able to leave without half the stuff on that table(far right is that a satin swedge ASHBM with wood burl handles?!), or until my bank called to tell me what I dumb*** I am. Anyway.....fantastic choice there. I really like the CGFBM I just picked up and yours is a beauty with those darkened tequila. Congrats!

Nice score... congrats! I agree, there's defiantly a place for the skinny mistresses although I don't discriminate against fatties either ;).

Good stuff!!! Aren't they awesome!! One of the best big choppers ever designed. Good to see it being used properly :)

Thanks everyone! :D

It is a full flat grind I believe. After looking at those pics though, it does look like there is a high saber grind on the logo side. Maybe it's an optical illusion? I can't feel a transition anywhere, but depending on the light, it looks like one is there. Oh well, I'll be able to tell for sure once I beat some more of the coating off!

Here's a few more pics:
