I got a sandblasting cabinet today, for free from my jewelry teacher. It's left over from when they had a metal sculpture class and was taking up room at school, she mentioned to me the other day that the district was planning on coming down and cutting it up because the first two crews they sent down "couldn't" get it out the doorway. The only thing wrong with it is it's too big and a couple of the seals are shot and the gloves had a little tiny rip in each one so she said if I could get it out I could have it. Barring the little bit of trouble we had with security it took about 10 minutes to take the door off and get it through. here's the specs on the model I believe it to be:

MODEL C3624

Flip Top Lid For Easy Loading
Side Door Access For Smaller Parts
Large View Window
Foot Pedal Control
Flourescent Lighting
Cotton Lined Gloves
Carbide Nozzle And Air Jet
Specifications
Overall: 36" W x 24" D x 58" H
Inside: 35.5" W x 23.5" D x 23" H

18CFM @100PSI is a BIG compressor ! Hope you got 220V and a lot of $ for that size unit. You may end up converting it to a smaller gun and a different feed. Knives don't need that kind of volume when bead blasting.

Ya know, Stacy, maybe he's going to be making really big knives! :D

I agree with Stacy... still a really great find, but that's a LOT of air! No biggie, finding a gun won't be too bad, I'm sure. Congrats on the find!

that's what i'd planned on doing, i think it's going to get more use for welds than knives though, it'll be nice anyways. and thanks :D
