The title says it all, I made this skinning style puukko without any power tools. Something about getting back to basics really appeals to me. I guess I did use a battery powered caliper for measurements , but other than that, completely hand made. I drilled out pieces for the handle with various gimlets and used a hand saw and rasp and sandpaper along with needle files both course and fine. I'm very proud of this one. By the way, this is my first post here so hi everyone. Look for more to come.

Thanks for all the kind remarks guys, it really fires me up and makes me want to go create another one.

I've been out of the trade for half a year and don't really know what the market is likr. What do you think I could reasonably expect if I were to sell a knife of this caliber?

Thanks for the kind words all, I've got a blade I forged just like this one basically. I think you've all inspired me to make a knife like this one or very similar. Then maybe I'll test the market out with that one. Much appreciated.

That would be best.... Instead of asking "what do you think this would sell for?" just go ahead and make one, get your knifemaker's membership, and throw one up for sale. That will tell you what it will bring.

Best of luck to you. That's nice craftsmanship.

No problem. You deserve the compliments. Now go make some knives for me to save up for!

One of my favorite kinds of knife and it's beautiful.

Great job.Wish I had that one. You did well with the spalting.

Hope you'll post the sheath that matches it.

I have a handmade sheath for it that I bought. It fits it so perfectly that I think I will keep them together. It just needs a little decoration and staining plus waterproofing to be finished. I will post it up when I finish with that part. Umm, as far as the spalting goes, the wood really did the work for me, but thank you. All I did was pick out the pieces I wanted with the most grain and spalting pattern.
