I'm putting money away for my next few knives and am looking at 2 specifically. The Protech Don and a Spyderco PM2. Obviously the Don is more expensive and takes longer to save for so my question is which one do I get first? Or do I wait until I can get them both at the same time?

The PM2 is a lot stronger and probably more useful. I think I would get this one first and make up my mind on the Don afterwards.

Yup, the one I can afford always wins over the one I can't. But those two models are apples and oranges. So the reason for purchase may come into play. If just another blade for a bad habit (collection [emoji12]), then which one do you like most. If you are going to use them, def the Spyder.

What will you carry or use more? Protech makes fantastic high quality knives. I've got 4.
You won't be disappointed.
Yeah, the Don is a little less "useful" if you ask me. More of a novelty knife IMHO.

2 totally different knives. I would get the PM2 first, it is just more useful.... but that's just me

hmm...I am not sure. If you are comfortable with selling your knives, then yes - you should first get the knife that you can afford now. Otherwise, I would save up a bit and get the one I want more later.

I own the pm2, so I can honestly say that it is worth the money. I have read a lot of great comments on Pro Tech as well. I'm sure you won't be disappointed with either purchase.
