My first Survive! is a GSO 5.0 (2nd) which has not arrived yet. I'm already thinking about my next order either a 4.1 or 5.1:confused:

Any suggestions from the group?

If only between those two I would go with a 5.1 since the 4.1 and 5 are very similar.

Im more of an edc blade kind of guy i have a 3.5 &7/7 on the way. I hope my next one will be a necker or possibly a 2.7. I already carry necker II everywhere so i imagine ill get plenty of use out of the 3.5&2.7 to justify buying them both.

I think you should get them both and not let such things stress your mind. Its only the right thing to do, not leaving any thing to chance.

Yes, this is sound advice

Seriously though, DLU04, way to go on your first survive. I can't wait for the 5'S to ship out!

What do you use your knives for most? Will you need more length for baronial or chopping? Would you prefer something smaller and lighter than your 5?
I'd say go with the 4.1. Nobody here likes choils.

Except those who do :p

Only if theres two to off load. I been wanting one ever since i got my necker II. It just screams carry me. I wanna turn it into a belt buckle and sport my Survive! like that.

Way to represent!

I hate myself for backing out on a necker II when they were doing their clean out sale. I had it in my cart and everything, but second guessed myself because of the ring and unique shape. Now I'm filled with regret.

Man those prices were insanely low, too. You know guys, we're in a pretty cool time right now in a lot of ways. Sucks to take so long for getting some of this stuff, but a lot of us have gotten killer deals on great knives. A couple years from now it will be like, remember when they were gearing up for the starter and you could get a necker II for $[insert dirt cheap price here]?

Best advice so far

Also, these are next in line to sharpen and ship, I believe.
Yeah, between the dirt cheap spring cleaning sales and starter models being released, it is an exciting time!

I'll agree that Guys prices are insanely low for what your getting. He gives you premium CPM 3V, machined to great precision at next to nothing. There are companies who charge triple the price for blades half the size, in average steels nonetheless.

Get it while you can I say.

You guys are killing me!

How can I go wrong with a 4.1 2nd (for now - I tell myself)? What a great support group you are. When I have a chance to fondle and caress my 5.0 I'll submit some pics
I'll bite the bullet and order the 5.1 this summer.

I'm going up to Alaska the end of July to fish for Silvers. Hope my GSO 5 arrives before I leave.

Everyone needs a 5.1, just a great knife. It's been a lot of years since I've been to Alaska. Lived in Klawock for a stretch as a teenager. I'd love to see pictures of the trip.

Well here is another chance silver. Necker II is coming back up soon according to this months update.

Thanks for thinking of me. The big reason I'm kicking myself about that necker II is how crazy low the clearance price was... and if I had ordered it when it was available, I'd have it right now.
Plus I'm kind of grounded from buying knives for awhile...

Haha as am I. I bought two Sebenzas in the past month and let's just say wifey is NOT happy with me.

Small world Hard Knocks - Klawock is where I'm headed. Perhaps I'll have some pics to post with my 5.0 in the wilds of Prince of Wales island?

My first Surivive! was a 6, that was almost 2 years ago. I now own the entire line and I have several 3.5s, 4.1s, 5.1s and Necker 2s. However I tend to gravitate to the 4.1 and the 5.1 the most. It just depends on if you like a finger coil or not. Regardless you should consider the 4.1 as suggested above. The price is unbeatable and you might find, like I did, that you'll use it more than any other knife. Or see how you like the 5 and take it from there.
